Abbreviation This element delineates a collection of language-specific string elements for Party Abbreviations.
AbsenteeReasonCode The code and name of a state-specific reason for a voter to be a permanent absentee (if reason is required).
AbsenteeReasonDefinitions The set of absentee reason codes defined by a state.
AbsenteeReturnReasonCode The code and name for a provisional ballot rejection.

AccessibilityCode The code and name of a state-specific handicap accessibility for a polling place to determine if the polling place meet handicap accessibility needs.

AddressAlias Defines a parted, E911 compliant residential address alias element to define alternate address nomenclatures for the same physical location.
AddressAliasList A collection of addresses that are aliases for other addresses defined in the system, allowing multiple addresses to refer to the same physical location.
AddressTypeCode A definition of an address type recognized by the state (e.g., commercial, residential, undeveloped, etc.).

AgentRelationshipCode The code and name for an agent relationship.

Alias Defines an alternate name, identifier or key value for an entity as known in an external election system. In general, a name or an id should be specified but not both.
Aliases This element delineates a collection of Alias elements. It is merely a means of organizing Alias elements together.
AliasNameList The list of alias names for the voter.
ApplicationImage The image of the voter's registration application.

ApplicationSourceDefinitions The application sources defined by a state.

BallotLanguage This element defines a language to be supported on a ballot. Each language supported by an Election must be defined in an element of this type in the BallotLanguages collection. BallotLanguage elements are collected in the BallotLanguages element.
BallotLanguages This element defines the set of languages supported in an Election in the form of a collection of BallotLanguage elements. The BallotLanguages collection is used to insure that all text, audio and image elements used on a ballot have been rendered in all the languages the declared for the ballot. The BallotLanguages collection must always be a subset of the languages defined in a jurisdiction's SupportedLanguagesList. The set match, but the set of BallotLanguages must always be from the list of SupportedLanguage elements under the jurisdiction holding the Election.
BallotRejectReasonCode The code and name for a provisional ballot rejection.

BallotStyle Defines a style of ballot that may be attached to a precinct. A ballot style is used to bundle a set of contests together logically by a means other than using district or explicit contest assignments to precincts. BallotStyle elements are always child members of the BallotStyles collection element.
BallotStyleContest Defines a single association between a ballot style and a contest. Usually collected in a BallotStyleContests element.

CastVote Specifies a vote as cast by a single voter for a particular Choice in a Contest.
CastVoteRecord Contains all of the votes of a ballot as cast by a single voter. CastVoteRecord elements are always child members of the CastVoteRecords collection element.
CastVoteRecords Delineates a collection of CastVoteRecord elements that were cast using the same VotingMethod.
CastVotes Delineates a collection of CastVote elements.
CastVoteTally Specifies a total vote tabulation for a given Precinct, Split, Contest, and Choice.
ChildJurisdiction A jurisdiction that is within or overlaps another parent jurisdiction of a superior type. Example: A state has a number of county child jurisdictions.
ChildJurisdictionList A list of child jurisdictions of a particular type.
Choice Defines an option for a Contest. If the Contest is a race for an office then the choices are candidates. If the Contest is a question then the choices are generally Yes/No or For/Against. Choice nodes are always children of the Contest element.
Contest Defines a ballot Contest. A Contest may either be a race for an office or a question such as a proposition, referendum, or initiative.
Contests Delineates a collection of Contest elements.
ContestTally Specifies the vote tabulations for one or more Choices in a given Contest plus the over and under votes, all for a given Precinct or Split.
ContestVote Contains the vote(s) for a particular contest as cast by a single voter.
County County describes a county's information as needed to manage elections and voter registration data.
DataSource Defines a system that is a source of an Alias key value or vote results.
DataSources Defines the set of DataSource definitions used by all aliases in the Election. These sources are referenced by those Alias and election tabulation elements to specify that they orgiginate from a different DataSource than the implied (default) DataSource. An Alias or election tabulation (Tally or CastVoteRecord) element refers to one of the DataSource elements this collection contains rather than repeating the source information in each alias. An Alias or tabulation result element must refer to a DataSource element defined in this section to be considered valid.
DeceasedData The complete set of data describing a deceased person.
DeceasedDataList The collection of DeceasedData elements.
DependentOnContest A reference to another Contest on this Contest depends. This node is only valid if dependent contests are enabled in this Election.
Description A description of a Polling Place's location, directions, etc.
Disability A disability code for a person.
DisabilityCode A state-specific definition of a recognized type of disability.
DisabilityDefinitions The set of disabilities recognized by a state.
DisabilityList The set of disabilities that affect a voter. Used to assist the voter in finding a suitable polling place that has facilities to address their disability.
DisplayImage A language-specific image- the language is specified in the 'lang' attribute.
DisplayText A language-specific block of text- the language is specified in the 'lang' attribute.
Disqualification A disqualification code applicable to a voter- essentially a reason a voter is not allowed to vote.
DisqualificationList The set of voter disqualification codes applicable to a voter- essentially the reasons a voter is not allowed to vote.
DisqualifierCode A state-specific definition of a recognized type of disqualifier for a voter (the reason a voter cannot vote).
DisqualifierDefinitions The set of voter disqualification codes recognized by a state.
District Defines a congressional, legislative, or other type of region that may have specificly associated precincts and contests.
DistrictContest Defines an association between a district and a contest. This collection is one of the methods of mapping Contests to Districts and ultimately Districts to Precincts and Splits to Contests. The others are to use BallotStyles or direct Contest to Precinct/Split assignment.

JurisdictionAddress The mailing address of the jurisdiction.

JurisdictionTitle Delineates a collection of language-specific string elements for a descriptive name of a jurisdiction. In general, this collection contains one string child element for each language supported by the election.
JurorData Information for a single person in the jury wheel.
JurorDataList The JurorDataList contains a collection of JurorData elements, each one of which describes a potential juror in the jury wheel.
JurorDisqualificationReasonCode The code and name of a state-specific reason for a juror to be disqualified from jury duty (if reason is required).

Measure Defines a measure for an election. A measure can just be defined to appear on an election or it can be related to an existing proposition that has been approved.

MeasureText Delineates a collection of language-specific string elements for text for describing a measure-based contest. This parent node will contain one child element for each BallotLanguage supported in the Election.

Municipality Municipality describes a municipality's information as needed to manage elections and voter registration data.
Name Delineates a collection of language-specific string elements for specifying the name of a language, party, voting type, etc. in a supported language. For example, a BallotLanguage must be defined in terms of the other languages in the election (e.g., "Spanish", "Espanol", "Spanisch", etc.).
NameSuffixCode A state-specific code for a recognized name suffix (e.g., Jr., Sr., III, IV, etc.).
NameSuffixDefinitions The set of name suffix definitions recognized by a state.
NarrativeTypeCode The code and name of a state-specific narrative type.
NarrativeTypeDefinitions The set of narrative type definitions recognized by a state government.
Office Defines an office that is held in the state. This office is a template for defining requirements to hold this office in this state. It does not represent the race/contest in an election as that is an instance of an office for a district.
OfficeHolder Defines an office holder for an office for an election.

OfficeTypeCode A state-specific definition of a recognized type of office.

Parameter Assigns a parameter value within a voting channel. A parameter value may consist of single value of a specified type (integer, string, etc.) or a series of language-specific strings defining the same text in each language supported by the election. Parameters are treated blindly by the ballot definition system- passed through to the voting channel unmodified.

Parties Delineates a collection of Party elements.
Party Defines a political party to be used in defining candidate affiliations, primary contests, and so forth.
Payee Defines an entity to which payment is to be rendered for services such as election duties performed, or for the use of facilities.
PayeeMailingAddress Describes the mailing address of any payee. This is the address where any check paid to the payee will be sent.

PaymentItem Defines an item to be paid to an entity, typically associated with an election.

PollBook A poll book contains the information needed for each voter with respect to a given election. Poll book data is exchanged between the Voter Registration system and the Election Management system to allow the Election Management system to print physical poll books according to the needs of the implementor.
PollingLocation Defines the physical polling location related to a polling place. Since the concept of a polling place remain constant from one election to the next, but the physical room and location of the polling place may change. The PollingLocation element allows you to maintain specific rooms or location related to a polling place. For Example: The Polling Place is named "Springfield Elementry", but for all general elections the school allow the election official to use the Gym; However for the special or local elections the school wants the poll workers to sets up the polling booths in the library. The location element allows the definition information about both locations in the school.

This definition is intended to be the complete definition used to track a polling place and schedule a polling place. The PollingPlace element is generally used only to represent a polling place as required for a ballot definition system.

Proposition Defines a proposition for in the system. The EDX structure supports maintaining information about a proposed amendment or legislative measure that will eventually appear on a ballot. This element is generally used to track that a measure has met all requirements prior to being added to the ballot.

LanguageRFC3066 ISO Standard 639 Part 2 Language codes. Once the xsd:langauge data type has been updated to support RFC 3066, this type will no longer be necessary.

TimeZone This type defines the format of the 3-character timezone specifier for values of this data type. Time zone values usually of the format ZUT, where Z is the zone abbreviation (as in 'E' for eastern, 'M' for mountain), U indicates whether the zone is under daylight savings time ('D') or standard time ('S') for the clock time it describes, and T is literally 'T'. The TimeZone value must be in upper case.
