Gregg Burt
President and Chief Executive Officer
Gregg joined Hart in April 2007 with an accomplished career in executive leadership managing a range of businesses. He is a seasoned executive with a solid record of success arranging financing, building and leading a range of technology businesses. Prior to joining Hart, Gregg was CEO of BuildForge, Inc., where he led the dramatic growth of this early stage enterprise software start-up. BuildForge was acquired by IBM in a very successful exit in 2006.
Prior to BuildForge, Gregg was Founder and CEO of PerformanceRetail, Inc. Gregg has been a partner at Accenture and has held various executive positions at Schlumberger Ltd., in Paris, France. During these assignments, he acquired extensive international experience in multiple merger and acquisition transactions involving both public and private entities.
Gregg holds a Masters of Business Administration with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California. He is a regular guest lecturer in Entrepreneurship, venture financing and M&A at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas, Austin.
John Thornborrow
Chief Financial Officer
As Chief Financial Officer for Hart InterCivic, John brings more than 15 years of senior financial and executive management experience in both publically and privately held large and small companies.
Prior to joining Hart, John was CFO and COO for TippingPoint Technologies, Inc. (a subsidiary of 3Com Corporation, NASDAQ:COMS). He has also held senior financial and operations management positions at NovusEdge, Inc., Matrix NetSystems, Inc. and Quinton Instrument Company (now Cardiac Science, NASDAQ:CSCX).
John has been actively involved in many M&A transactions at an executive level on both the buy and sell side. His financing transaction experience ranges from angel, VC and PE equity financings to a wide range of secured and unsecured debt financings. John's deal level experience includes high growth venture start-ups, LBO turnarounds, and profitable middle market operating companies.
John holds a Masters of Business Administration in Finance and Entrepreneurship with Honors from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University.
Phillip Braithwaite
Senior Vice President and General Manager
Phillip serves as Senior Vice President and General Manager for Hart InterCivic, responsible for all aspects of the Elections business, including customer relations, product management, partner strategy, finance, operations, engineering and print services. Phillip joined Hart in 2001 and has held a variety of executive roles, including sales & marketing, strategic planning, and corporate development. During his tenure at Hart, Phillip has overseen all phases of multiple M&A and business development transactions.
Phillip came to Hart from Dell Inc., where he held leadership positions across multiple business disciplines, including opportunity management, marketing programs, and sales operations. Before Dell, Phillip worked in high tech companies like TelServe, Ziff-Davis, and IDG, as well as his own family business.
Phillip holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin
Derek Hutson
Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Derek joined Hart in 2009, bringing more than 12 years of experience in enterprise software and technology businesses. His successful track record includes growing revenue in start up phases, leading large sales organizations and successful M & A activity, both in selling and acquiring technology companies.
Prior to Hart, Derek served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for CoreTrace where he led the company through 8 quarters of rapid growth. Before CoreTrace, Derek held multiple executive positions at IBM serving on the leadership team for IBM Software Group's acquisition of Telelogic (TLOG.ST) and responsible for due diligence and integration of the acquired sales functions globally. Derek also lead the successful integration of BuildForge after the 2006 acquisition by IBM.
Prior to IBM, Derek served as VP of WW Sales at BuildForge from its start up phase through 12 consecutive quarters of growth and its acquisition by IBM. Under his leadership, BuildForge grew from no revenue to annual revenues in excess of 20 million. Prior to joining BuildForge, Derek held various sales management roles at BMC Software.
Derek holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Houston.
Marcus MacNeill
Vice President, Products and Partnerships
Marcus joined Hart in 2007 and is responsible for product strategy, management, marketing and partnering functions. He brings more than 20 years of experience in enterprise software development, management and marketing to his role.
Prior to Hart, Marcus held senior product management and marketing positions at Surgient, Troux Technologies, Vignette, PeopleSoft and Oracle. Marcus began his career as a software engineer and development manager at Platinum Technology.
Marcus holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University.
Andy Rodgers
Vice President, Engineering, Hart Voting Systems
Andy joined Hart in 2005 after more than 20 years in high tech business and is responsible for product management, development, sustaining and production engineering, as well as Federal certification for all Hart Voting Systems products.
Prior to joining Hart, Andy held product development management positions at Hewlett Packard and StorageTek, delivering dozens of successful products to market. He has also worked as a management consultant and entrepreneur. His experience includes supervision of R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing and Quality functions, in environments from startups to the Fortune 20. Andy holds 3 U.S. patents.
Andy received a Master of Science in Management of Technology from the National Technological University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University.
