Summary

The Information Technology (IT) Associate position is responsible for installing, maintaining, configuring, and repairing hardware & software components of the organization's computer systems and networks, aiming for the highest levels of functionality, security, and efficiency. This position supports these systems through remote access or site visits as required by IT management and the customer base. This role will also train users of these systems, as required. A successful IT Associate will have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems. The ideal candidate will also have advanced troubleshooting abilities, demonstrate attention to detail, and be a very effective team player. The goal is to help build and maintain, safe and secure, updated, and efficient computer systems and networks that will optimize the role of technology while fully integrated with our business including long-term sustainability.

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, repair and test computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, network switches, routers, telecommunication, and teleconferencing equipment
  • Install and maintain hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers
  • Install and configure software applications including but not limited to MS Windows 10, MS Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and various applications
  • Image PCs and install and configure appropriate software and functions according to carefully documented specifications
  • Create, edit, and improve technical articles and other procedures for systems at Hart
  • Provide remote user support over phone and PC
  • Mobile device management, support, and service as required
  • Working technical knowledge of the latest operating systems, network protocols and standards
  • Troubleshoot all issues in a timely manner
  • Performs non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity
  • Participates in multi-discipline information technology teams for new and existing projects
  • Support IT projects, strategies, processes, as directed by management
  • Provide ongoing technical support and training to all company-wide personnel
  • Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
  • Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated skills to follow detailed written and verbal instructions - attention to detail / accurate data entry
  • Minimum of one year of computer hardware experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows 10 and MS Office 365
  • In-depth knowledge of desktop, laptop computers, and internal computer systems
  • Proven experience and track-record working in a fast-paced, hands-on team environment - handling tasks/assignments which are moderately complex in nature
  • Demonstrated judgment in resolving problems and making routine recommendations
  • Must be able to routinely lift/move PC’s, monitors, related PC equipment and Verity equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Demonstrated hands-on participant as previous member of an Information Technology (IT) organization, providing contributions in various aspects of the technical organization
  • Demonstrated effective communication, facilitation, coaching, and training skills
  • Easily adaptable to fast-paced, dynamic work environment with shifting demands
  • Self-motivated individual who role models attendance, reliability, discipline, and personal responsibility is a must
  • Create, edit, and improve technical articles and other procedures for systems

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Associates degree in information technology, computer science, etc. is preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Occasional travel to customer sites and training venues (10% typical)
  • Work with warehouse personnel and/or Sales Team members as needed to organize and coordinate large shipments with many parts and pieces so that everything needed to conduct successful presentations/demonstrations/training arrives on-time and in proper working order
  • Work with Product Management and/or Engineering to coordinate and validate the presentation/demonstration/training software/hardware is in functioning order. This includes completing minor technical tasks such as burning media devices, installing memory or other components, etc.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding/knowledge of Hart’s product offerings so that the appropriate and correct voting system devices and components are properly arranged/tested/loaded/packed for successful presentations/demonstrations/training
  • Ability to prepare/arrange/setup/organize technical equipment, including hardware/software and other ancillary technology products
