Pricing Analyst



Pricing Analyst needed to implement and evaluate pricing strategies in a competitive business environment. As a pricing analyst, you will work with cross-functional teams such as finance, supply chain, sales, sales operations, proposal, and product teams. You will be responsible for sales modeling, list pricing processes, deal/win strategic modeling, competitive analysis, reporting enhancements, actual vs target variance analysis explanations, and adhoc business performance projects and analytics.


  • Own the company’s pricing processes
  • Manage the PCOM forum for list pricing decisions
  • Work with product management to enable pricing strategy
  • Prepare iterative deal pricing portions of RFP responses
  • Work with Sales team to arrive at recommended pricing
  • Develop and Present analysis for Executive Review – including revenue, margin, and cash impacts, along with competitive models
  • Document results of review and Executive approvals
  • Maintain competitive pricing database
  • Create and present analytics to support management (examples, not exhaustive)
  • Hypothetical scenarios on sales changes against plan
  • Customer Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis on current product offering
  • Margin and discounting analysis - product level and/or customer level
  • Revenue analytics by product, by customer, per precinct spend, etc.
  • Pricing trends/compares vs competitors
  • State level compares and summaries
  • Deal margin reporting for Project Managers
  • Deal margin reporting for Project Managers
  • Assist with the company’s monthly, quarterly Forecast/ Outlook process
  • Assist with updating of existing financial models, ensuring all modeling aligns with business projections
  • Revenue, margin, and unit revisions via updates with Sales VP, Sales Operations Mgr. and Supply Chain Director
  • Assist with the Yearly Budget (e.g. Annual Plan) process
  • Ensure synch with the Executive Leadership Strategic Planning process – target markets and pricing strategies
  • Assist with revenue and margin planning in the budget model


  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2-5 years related work experience
  • Advanced Excel modelling skills and analytical ability
  • Proficiency with P&L analysis, including RUM (revenue, units and margin) variance analysis
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Accuracy
  • Effective time management and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
  • Strong attention to details
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Personal and organizational maturity with intellectual curiosity
  • Highly motivated, strong work ethic
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
