King George County Switches to Verity Voting

KING GEORGE, Virginia, Sept. 26 – King George County has joined a growing number of Virginia localities in selecting the secure, reliable Verity® Voting system from Hart InterCivic to replace outmoded election technology. The County’s voters will cast their November ballots on the new system.

“Verity is easy to set up and easy to learn. We’ve supported counties in Virginia for more than 15 years, and we know what King George and other jurisdictions need to make a smooth, timely transition,” said Phillip Braithwaite, President and CEO of Hart InterCivic.

“We serve Prince William, Essex, Westmoreland and other nearby counties, and King George officials know they can rely on our service and reputation.”

The only all-new paper-based digital scanning system certified for use in Virginia, Verity technology introduces the innovative Verity Scan digital scanning device, allowing voters to scan their paper ballots in the polling place, and the accessible  Verity Touch Writer ballot marking device. The two devices share the same secure, compact hardware platform as well as an easy-to-use interface.

Verity receives high marks from voters and poll workers as being easy to learn and easy to use. The system’s portable, briefcase style and collapsible ballot box simplify transport, setup and storage.

“Hart’s experience in helping counties transition to new voting technology is paying off as upgrades roll out across Virginia,” said Braithwaite. “We welcome King George County and expect more announcements soon.”
