This patented “always-on” smart label displays essential information for enhanced security, auditability, and efficient election management. Only Vanguard instantly tells you the last time a device was used, even when powered off.
Whole Disk Encryption
All data stored on the workstations and devices, including the operating system (OS), is encrypted to protect from unauthorized access.
Logging from Power Up to Power Down
Only Vanguard logs device and workstation behavior from the moment the power button is pressed.
Hardware Augmented Secure Boot
Surpassing VVSG 2.0 requirements, Vanguard performs two optimized secure boot processes and cuts start-up time in half for twice the security, twice as fast.
Kiosk mode
Blocks user access to the operating system; users can only access elections applications and tasks.
Military grade hardening
Meets the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Installer-less deployment model
Once the system is delivered, there is no need for additional hardening, downloading of applications, or accessing the computer operating system.
Easy hash validation
Validate the software’s authenticity in a straightforward process.
Nonexistence of networking technology
Hart devices do not have the physical hardware present to connect to any networks, unlike competitors’ products.
Software Independence
Voters and scanners see and read the same language so ballot data can be read without computers or barcode translation, unlike other system.
Human Readable Election Data
Vote data used for tabulation, CVRs, and system/device logs are human readable. Understanding or sharing this transparent data requires no specialized training or conversion, bolstering voter trust.
