VotePass is a single-use, disposable paper ticket that is printed from the Boost Device. The disposable ticket allows voters to independently initiate their own voting session on the Flex Ballot Marking Device. The VotePass ticket activates the right ballot for voters, removing the need to enter a code or manually select a ballot style. Each VotePass ticket can only be used once and eradicates the need for costly smart cards. Single use VotePass tickets are thermally stamped after use, automatically preventing reuse.
How VotePass Works
Four Simple Steps
1. Voter Check-In
The voter is verified using the jurisdiction’s electronic poll book.
2. VotePass Generation
A VotePass ticket is generated with the appropriate ballot style information.
3. Self-Service Activation
The voter uses VotePass to instantly activate their session on the Vanguard Flex ballot marking device.
4. Automatically Prevents Reuse
After use, the VotePass is thermally stamped, preventing reuse.
