Summary

The Supply Chain Specialist position is directly involved in the sourcing, ordering, scheduling and ongoing production support of the company’s product line by utilizing Electronic Contract Manufacturers to manufacture its products to exacting specifications. This position will also support the existing install base by sourcing necessary services, materials and supplies to support the product in the field. Maintain positive relationships with Contract Manufacturers, Suppliers and Distributors. Ensure customer satisfaction with timely deliveries. Protect brand image and reliability.
Foster growth-friendly supply chain practices. Train employees, emphasizing safety guidelines and promoting a culture of excellence.
Analyze shipping and delivery data with an eye for optimization. Monitors and corrects inventory levels at outside warehouses (3PL) and internally to ensure rotation and maximize working capital. Demonstrate skillset necessary for future manager opportunity as a part of a designed Succession Plan.

Responsibilities:

  • Negotiating with suppliers and customers for best prices, payment terms, and delivery timelines
  • Planning, production, and inventory control utilizing NetSuite ERP software
  • Local and remote warehousing process optimization
  • Logistics, cost, and schedule control
  • Insight into economic conditions and market dynamics
  • Participate in multi-discipline product development teams for sustaining and new product introduction projects
  • Participate in Change Control Review and Material Review Board activities
  • Provide support in product investigations
  • Provide ongoing technical support and training to manufacturing personnel and to Professional Services Group
  • Assist in QBR’s with key suppliers

Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, or equivalent experience
  • Must have well developed skills to work with both US based and international suppliers
  • Preferred Certified Professional Purchasing Specialist (CPPM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or equivalent
  • Prefer PMP certification (Project Management Experience)

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years directly related experience as a supply chain Specialist or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment within a diverse, multi-national supply chain
  • Excellent knowledge of supply chain processes
  • Working experience of relevant MRP/ERP/CRM software (e.g. SAP, SalesForce, NetSuite)
  • Strong cross-company communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Rigorous attention to detail
  • Creative problem-solving (e.g. 5 Why)
  • A strategic and analytical mind
  • 3+ years in project management in the following capacities: project lead, costing, resource scheduling, and risk mitigation
  • Familiarity with Product Data Management Systems, including processes and guidelines for Part Number, BOM, Revision, Deviation, and other change management tracking within a highly regulated environment
  • Adaptable to fast-paced, dynamic work environment with shifting demands
  • Must be an effective written and spoken communicator with peers, management, and vendors
  • Detail oriented, organized, thorough and respect for quality control
  • Occasional travel to manufacturing sites and to customer sites (10% typical)
